In the early 60's growth and expansion continued as two additional ovens were installed at the 35th St. location. In 1964, Schulze & Burch is contracted by General Foods« to produce a new item - a toaster pastry - marketed under the Toast'em« brand. The 35th Street facility is expanded yet again with the construction of a new 18,000 sq. ft. packaging building in 1966.

In 1971, Schulze & Burch acquired the Toast'em« brand from General Foods and marketed it under the Flavor Kist umbrella. By the middle of the decade Schulze & Burch had produced the first granola bar. In 1978 Tara Foods, a specialty packaging company producing portion control items for the health care market, is founded.

Construction of a new plant 1950's - Schulze and Burch Biscuit Company1980's

Schulze & Burch once again made baked goods history when it was selected to produce the FIRST dual textured cookie - chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Also expanding on its granola bar line, Schulze & Burch is selected to manufacture the FIRST chocolate covered chewy granola bar. In 1986 faced with increasing production demands, Schulze & Burch expanded the 35th Street facility with the addition of a new mixing room. In the late 80's Schulze & Burch relocated Tara Foods to its current location in Hodgkins, Illinois. Renamed Tara International, the facility is expanded to include portion-control packaging, display merchandise, coupon inserts and promotional products. The facility has the equipment and expertise to primary pack, repackage or custom pack products to meet any customer's project specifications. Maintaining its place among industry leaders, Schulze & Burch built a Food Technology and Development Center at Tara International. This is a fully-computerized, self-contained pilot plant with inline product capabilities for a wide range of baked products, as well as various blending and portion packs.
